Can you guess what I baked last night???? I got home and realized that I had a bunch of very ripe bananas and decided instead of throwing them away (because we all know that I do not eat bananas that have even the slightest brown on them), I would bake with them.
So, I got all my supplies together:
Mashed the bananas:
I had my "helpers" add the ingredients:
Angie had to help too (yes, she is shirtless....my "girl" has to walk around shirtless like her brothers):
I got everything mixed together:
Mixture in the pans and in the oven:
The finished product.... two loaves of Banana Nut Bread-- one of my favorites (oops, I did have to cut off a small slice to "test" it)!! :)
I will have you know that between me and two of my children, we finished off that smaller loaf... and it was yummy!!!

Banana bread just makes the house smell so good. Looks like all your helpers did a great job. :)
My kids love banana bread. Think I have some ripe bananas now. Got my breakfast for tomorrow planned. Thanks!
Well, my mouth was watering by the time I scrolled to the last shot. :)
WOW! I have read two post with banana bread including you. I never baked one before and now I want to try. Care to share your recipe? Looks delish and fun to make! Look at your pics!

I love banana bread. I have made six loaves over the past few weeks (my kids have been uninterested in our bananas lately).
It is so comforting -- especially hot from the oven with tons of real butter on top!
here is our family recipe:

Okay, that is just RUDE. Now I'm desperate for banana bread and whenever I make it it ends up tasting like glue...who can I pay to make it for me???
I love that you documented the yum!
That looks sooooooo good! Everyone is making banana bread I think I am definately going to have to make some now!
great helpers - any leftovers? Girl you are skinny!!!!!!!
you are quite the homemaker:)
YUm YUM:)
Whats the reciept for banana bread??
love the pictures!
mmmmmm. Now I'm hungry!!!
Mmm, I love banana bread!
Knife question....I have several Henckel knives and I really like them. But I have found that you really don't need a bunch of knives. I have a 7" Calphalon Santoku knife that I use all of the time. The other two I use are my paring knife and bread knife. To me those are the three most haves.
The wildfires we had five years ago came within 2 miles of our house. Super scary!
I'll take a slice or two over here please! :0)
Look delicious. I love banana bread.
I don't eat brown bananas either - I like them slightly green.
tee...hee...we had the same photo story friday. But I only had one shorty helper. Banana bread is the best treat!!
The second banana bread post I've seen. Tis the season. :) I love banana bread. And I too don't like bananas that have went brown at all. Ick.
I've really just started. Kameron's is the most complete I have ever done. The next two I have lined up will be a little more complete - then I will have a better idea of what it really entails. If you want to email me (check out my profile) we can chat a little more about it. I would love to do yours.
Thanks for the compliment on the header pic. I want to design a new header but I don't want to take that pic down...I'm torn
And my bread is half gone...I'm the only one eating it :)
Wow, that bread looks great. My wife is drooling.
Mmmmm that looks so good. I will have to make some now.
MMMM! I can just about smell it!
nummy nummy that looks good. way to go on getting the kids involved in the kitchen. mine love that too :)
Yummy...what a great way to use those bananas. I don't eat them if have any brown either!
Laughing at your shirtless girl...she'd fit right in with my three. They rarely have all their clothes on when we are inside these days!
Yummy.
I just LOVE banana bread... which is kind of funny because I don't care for bananas!
