I actually like scary things.... I love to watch scary movies and I love haunted houses (a like that I share with CJ, who is taking after his mommy)... probably mostly because I know I can get scared, but it won't really happen to me, so it's ok!!
-
BUT, as a 5 year old girl, it was hard to seperate reality from the scary TV stuff. At 5 years old, my babysitter/nanny at the time let me watch Salem's Lot with her. It was late one evening, we had all the lights out, she made popcorn and I felt like a.big.girl.
-
That was short lived.... I don't remember much of the movie that scared me except for the one scene.... the one image that has never left my mind....
-
If you have seen the movie, you know what this is...... A boy was sleeping in his bed when he hears a scratching, tap-tap-tap on his window; and when he looks out he sees this vampire (who happens to be his brother) floating outside his window!!! yikes.... I cried...
-
And from that moment on until just recently (i know I'm a nerd), I would not sleep with the blinds open and I had to have some kind of light on at some place in my house (as a kid, it had to be the hall light right outside my door).
-
Of course now I am a BIG.GIRL and I have still yet to watch that movie again.... I am sure it really won't be that scary now, but I am not chancing it... I am finally able to sleep with my blinds open and all lights off!! :-)

I watched Chuckie as a little kid and lets just say to this day I still dolls that look like him and I don't have dolls in my room they are all in the basement. I am still scared of it lol
That whole book was a "have to read it with the lights on" affair for me. Love Stephen King, but this one almost put me over the edge...
Holy crap! I remember that movie. My parents were watching it and told us kids to go play in another room so we wouldn't be scared. What they didn't know was I snuck out of the other room and was watching behind a chair. That movie scared the living daylights out of me!
oh my word i put my hand over the screen and SCROLLED UP
I devoured stephen king as a kid..
HE SUCKS now.. but still
"IT"
freaked my sheot out.
How scary!
I'm going to be so picky about the scary stuff that my boys can watch when they are young. It's so traumatizing to see these things when you are young.
OH YIKES! I'm with Supah ... totally covered that awfulness and scrolled like I was running for my life! Never saw that movie. Never will.
Just like your need to close the blinds, I keep my shower curtain open for fear that someone is hiding in my bathtub ... so silly, I know!
That was a scary movie. I got chills when I scrolled down to the pic...shame on you!
I've never seen that particular movie...but one I did see (and still haunts me) is "The Changling"...no not the new one...the old one...it's about a boy that haunts this old house...he died by drowning in the bathtub and for years I couldn't bathe...it freaked me the eff out...showers all the way!!!
I've never seen that or the strangers. I'm super scared to watch Halloween. Something about hte all white face and the music in it. Crazy weird because I can watch any other scary movie and I don't trip.
HA HA HA HA HA! I've never seen that movie, but I was always that kids WANTING to watch scary movies and loving them. I sleep in complete darkness, BUT I don't sleep with my blinds open. Somebody might see my goodies!
Thanks for the visual....I'm totally creeped out!!!!!
My babysitter let us watch The Holocaust on television - YES, I am old enough that I was in like fourth grade when it came out...maybe third. Anyway, one of the horrible death camp scenes comes on and my brother LOST HIS SPAGHETTI.
so gross.
The sitter VACCUMED it up.
My mom found out a week later. That sitter never got to come watch us ever again.
my cousin always let us watch scary movies when she watched us. I wold scream and yell. So did she. LOL.
I REMEMBER that movie!!! Can't remember the title but I remember the scene of the boy floating outside the window
